How to Take Your Body Measurements

When taking your measurements, use a cloth measuring tape. If you don't have a cloth measuring tape handy, you can use a piece of non-stretchy string or fabric and then measure the string against a ruler.

Measure in your undergarments only, not over your clothes. Your measurements should be taken with the bra you would wear with the garment. The tape measure should be held firmly (not tight) against your body and parallel to the floor. It can be helpful to have another person take your measurements to ensure the tape is parallel to the floor, or you can check it in front of a mirror.
All measurements must be taken as a circumference around your body.
Bust:
Measure around the fullest part of the chest.

Waist:
Measure the smallest part of the waist. The natural waist is below the rib cage and usually above the belly button. Do not take this measurement around the waistband of your clothing.

Hip:
Measure the widest part of the hips.
